Homestay families are carefully selected for their friendliness and families associated with homestay are called hosts.
Host families will look after you during your stay, preparing meals, some laundry and cleaning. If you are studying English they can also help with your studying. Meals are usually taken around the family table so close integration with your hosts can take place.
A hosting family will hold either full time or part time jobs so when you first meet your host it is always a good idea to sit down and work out the best time table for meals and social activities.
Privacy
It is important to respect each others privacy and respect each others culture as different nationalities can and do have different approaches.
